Mexico October 2015

Do you like yoga, wine, hikes, gourmet food, adventures and Mexico? Then keep reading!

Valle de Guadalupe has become one of my favorite places to go to get away from the noise. The atmosphere is relaxed, rustic but sophisticated at the same time. Home to boutique wineries, gourmet restaurants and food trucks, chic hotels to visit during the day, and a pitch black sky filled with stars to stare at at night.

El Valle has rapidly been recognized for its beauty and charm by publications such as the Wall Street Journal, LA Times, Conde Nast Traveler and others, calling it “the Napa Valley of Mexico”.

So let me show you around!!

I have chosen an ecological and sustainable Bed and Breakfast located in the heart of Valle de Guadalupe for us to stay. Terra del Valle is a beautiful property that counts 5 bedrooms, each one of them with their own patio and hammock, surrounded by fruit trees and blue skies, perfect space to connect with nature.

Choosing wineries to visit was not easy, because there are over 50 of them in the Valley, but I have picked 3, Las Nubes, La Lomita and Vena Cava. All of them provide a very well recognized variety of vinos and a beautiful property with open space for you to walk around or sit back and enjoy the view.

You think you like mexican food? Be ready to be impressed with the gastronomy of Ensenada. Yup, mexican food is more than just tacos and burritos.

We will visit what my husband calls “the best mexican restaurant” (trust me, this guy is hard to impress when it comes to food). Even the FoodieHub awarded La Cocina de Dona Esthela for “the Best Breakfast in the World”! .. not making this up, look >

A lot of wineries and hotels have teamed up with chefs from all over the world to create a unique style of gastronomy that has also been recognized by foodies from Wine Magazine, Travel and Leisure and Food and Wine to mention some.

We will enjoy a 3 course dinner each night (Friday and Saturday) at Finca Altozano and El Pinar de Tres Mujeres. (Menu on both places are based on local products depending on what’s on season). Please inform me if you have any food allergies.

Luckily, we have all of the above only 2 hours driving from San Diego. I will rent a van so that we can all go together and I will drive so that you can enjoy the view.
